The deadline passed last Wednesday in order for candidates to file for elective office this fall.  This year is considered an “off-year” election, however, you should be ready to see plenty of campaign signs along Adams County roads as many township and village races will occur.  The Board of Elections will meet to certify the petitions this week, and it is possible that several of those that filed will not make the ballot due to issues with their petitions.

There are two positions for Trustee open in each Adams County township, four seats on village councils and three positions on the Adams County/Ohio Valley and Manchester Local School Districts.

Those filing were:

Bratton Township Trustee: James P. Hillger, Wayne Hanson, and James Wallace.

Monroe Township Trustee: Susan K. Lee, Sam Baldwin, Shannon McCarty, Sheena L. White, Robert Dale Holsinger, and Robert W. Bentley.

Brush Creek Township Trustee:Randy B. Lewis, Dustin Hayslip, and Jerrid Gustin.

Oliver Township Trustee: Steve Chaney, Alex Baker, John Ruggles, Charles W. Emert, Quintin Baker, and Brad Erwin.

Franklin Township Trustee: Jeffrey W. Evans and Ronald E. Anderson.

Scott Township Trustee: Sam Bolender, Jason Hupp, and Homer F. Holsted.

Green Township Trustee: Wesley Taylor, John R. Easter, Brent D. Harper, and Matthew D. Gray.

Sprigg Township Trustee: David Abbott, Brennan Roush, Denver N. Phillips, Tommy L. Mefford, and Noah J. Schiltz.

Tiffin Township Trustee: Greg B. Grooms and Richard M. Dryden.

Liberty Township Trustee: Jason D. Baldwin, David Blythe, and Wendell W. Swearingen.

Wayne Township Trustee: Steven W. Leonard, Jason Work, Alex Rosselot, and Jimmy Tadlock.

Manchester Township Trustee: Earl D. Roark

Manchester Township Fiscal Officer:Irene R. Shively and Brooklyn Chaney.

Winchester Township Trustee: Kirk Bunn and Michael Swackhammer.

Meigs Township Trustee: Larry J. Gardner, Bill Setty, and Steve Hoop.
Village of Manchester:

Unexpired Term of Mayor: Teresa Blythe, Billie Jo Goodwin, and Richard Shawn Francis.

Village Council: Troy Jolly, Diana L. Brown, Romona G. Applegate, Regina Adams and Shawn D. Palmer.

Village of West Union: Village Treasurer: Shelley Gifford.

Village Council: Donna Young, Mary Jane Campbell, Ashley M. Sexton, Randy Brewer and Mark Brewer.

Village of Seaman: Village Council: Christina Erkenbrecher, Robert G. Wright, Lana Chandler, David C. Merfert, and Michael L. Tolle.

Adams County/Ohio Valley Board of Education: Christi B. Countryman-Dick, Tyler E. Cantrell, Robin P. Lucas, Justin L. Davis, Tiffany DeMint, Kevin Schoonover, Gay Lynn Shipley.  Shipley is the only incumbent board member running for re-election.
