The Adams County Senior Citizens Council held the 44th Annual Adams County Senior Citizens Day at the Cherry Fork Community Center on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. The theme this year was: Connect, Create, and Contribute.
A packed schedule kept the day rolling as over 150 local senior citizens heard from the Manchester High School Pep Band, Mark Tolle, and Tyler Christopher who works regionally as an Elvis impersonator. The emcee for the festivities was Stephen Caraway and the program was opened up by Rev. Ken Johnson who offered devotions and Mary Stout, who serves as Executive Director of the agency.
Those in attendance were also offered safe driving tips from Lt. Randy McElfresh from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The day also included several awards that included the Adams County Outstanding Senior Award. This year the award was given to Adams County Recorder Mark Tolle.

Other awards presented: Harlan Plummer; Outstanding Veteran Senior Award; Jim Pertuset was awarded Outstanding Senior for Peebles; and Judy Shipley was designated Outstanding Senior for West Union.
