Adams County Community Foundation Launches Gift Matching Program

“A little can go a long way, especially when it’s shared.” This heartfelt sentiment perfectly captures the essence of the Adams County Community Foundation’s (ACCF) new initiative: the “Help Your Gift Go Further” program. In a generous move to enhance local philanthropy, the foundation is now set to match 50 cents for every dollar donated, thanks to a substantial grant from the state of Ohio. This means that a $100 contribution can generate a $150 impact—an opportunity available until December 31, 2024, or until funds last.

For many, the idea of giving might seem daunting, especially when resources are limited. However, the ACCF believes that every contribution—no matter the size—can make a significant difference. This program exemplifies the community spirit of Adams County, demonstrating that pooling resources together creates lasting change. By establishing permanent endowment funds, the foundation ensures that donations not only address immediate community needs but also grow over time, providing benefits for generations to come.

Since its establishment in 2019, the ACCF has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents. Governed by a volunteer board of trustees comprised of local leaders, the foundation focuses on managing funds responsibly, honoring the intentions of donors, and addressing pressing community needs. Donations made today will contribute to vital services such as education, healthcare, and cultural initiatives, paving the way for a brighter future.

John Condon, a board member of the ACCF, shared, “While it sometimes takes a while to see the impact of donations, it’s important to remember that just like an acorn that grows into a mighty oak tree, the contributions made today will flourish over time, creating a strong community for future generations.”

Through the “Help Your Gift Go Further” program, residents can donate to various existing endowment funds or even establish their own. Whether it’s the Adams County Community Foundation Fund, the First State Bank Community Fund, or the Humane Society of Adams County Legacy Fund, every contribution matters. These endowed funds are designed to grow and provide support to the community in perpetuity, addressing needs from social services to education and culture.

The ACCF proudly partners with the Scioto Foundation, which has provided invaluable guidance and support since its inception. With decades of experience and a proven track record of successful philanthropy, the Scioto Foundation’s assistance helps ensure that the ACCF can stand strong and make a meaningful impact in Adams County.

Donating is simple; community members can contribute by mailing a check to:

Additionally, donations can be made securely online at accfo.org/giving. The ACCF invites everyone to join this initiative to uplift the community, whether by creating a new fund or supporting existing ones.

As the year draws to a close, the matching program serves as a reminder of the collective strength that comes from working together. Each donation not only enhances the immediate community but also invests in a future filled with opportunities for all.

For more information on how to participate in the “Help Your Gift Go Further” program, visit the Adams County Community Foundation’s website or reach out directly. Together, the community can plant the seeds for lasting growth and support for generations to come.
