The Adams County 4-H was thrilled to participate in a significant event at the Adams Ohio River Transit Access (AORTA) port on the Ohio River, joining forces with the Licking County 4-H/Jr. Fairboard, Intel, and various local and state officials. This gathering highlighted the burgeoning growth of manufacturing in Ohio and the substantial potential the port brings to Adams County.

The event took place on a beautiful morning, as the Ohio River provided a picturesque backdrop for the celebration. Intel and McCoy Lumber played host to the young leaders from Adams and Licking counties, showcasing the critical role the AORTA port will play in the region’s economic development. Intel’s superloads, which are bound for New Albany, begin their journey through Ohio at this very site, marking an important milestone for the local community.

Jack McCoy of McCoy Lumber shared his inspiring vision for the AORTA port, emphasizing how this site will serve the region for generations to come. “This port is not just a gateway for goods; it’s a gateway for opportunity and growth for our community,” McCoy remarked.

The involvement of Adams County 4-H members underscored the importance of engaging young leaders in the region’s economic future. Their participation was made possible by the generous invitation from the McCoy Family, who are committed to fostering the next generation of leaders.

“It was exciting to hear about the growth of manufacturing in Ohio and the potential the port brings to Adams County,” said a representative from Adams County 4-H said on social media.

The celebration at the AORTA port symbolizes a promising future for Adams County, driven by the collaborative efforts of local organizations, businesses, and young leaders dedicated to the region’s growth and prosperity.
