As a young farmer and entrepreneur, I am thankful for Senator Rob Portman’s efforts to help pass policies that will benefit Ohio’s agricultural communities and our entire economy. That includes the recently passed bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The kinds of investments this bill makes in American infrastructure are long overdue and will help support long-term economic growth for Ohio and our entire country.
From fixing our aging roads, bridges, and highways to expanding broadband access to expanding clean energy technologies, the infrastructure bill passed by Congress with the help of leaders like Senator Portman will improve the quality of life for Ohioans while creating jobs and increasing economic opportunities.
Senator Portman has also been critical in helping pass the Growing Climate Solutions Act out of the Senate. This bill would help farmers in Ohio and nationwide by providing the information and resources needed to adopt climate-friendly agricultural practices and making it easier to participate in carbon credit markets. It is a win-win for our environment as well as rural economies as it would help lower emissions while providing a steady stream of revenue for farmers.
We need more of these kinds of pro-growth solutions out of Congress. I hope Senator Portman will continue leading on these issues and working across the aisle to advance policies that have Ohio’s best interests at heart.
