Kindergarten students from across Adams County experienced a day on the farm during the 46th annual Kindergarten Ag Day, held Wednesday, April 16 at the Adams County Fairgrounds.
This long-running tradition welcomed nearly 700 kindergarteners for a fun and educational experience focused on the importance of agriculture. Organized by a dedicated team of volunteers, farmers, FFA students, and community partners, Kindergarten Ag Day brings agriculture to life through hands-on stations and demonstrations.
Children had the chance to meet farm animals up close, learn about crops and where food comes from, see tractors and farm equipment in action, and understand the many ways agriculture touches their everyday lives. The event aims to spark curiosity while also building early awareness of safety around animals and farm machinery.
Now in its 46th year, Kindergarten Ag Day continues to be a highlight for local schools, combining education with plenty of smiles, muddy boots, and lasting memories. Teachers and parents praised the event for its engaging format and the way it connects young learners to the farming heritage of Adams County.
The event was made possible thanks to the hard work of volunteers, the Adams County Farm Bureau, local FFA chapters, and support from community partners who are committed to agricultural literacy and youth outreach.
