On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the annual Adams County Jr. Fair Beef BBQ was held at the Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center, drawing another strong turnout with 1,770 meals served. The drive-thru tradition once again brought together residents in support of the Adams County Jr. Fair.
The menu featured beef, slow-cooked to perfection, accompanied by a variety of sides. Prepared and served by dedicated volunteers—including Jr. Fair members and local organizations—the event not only satisfied appetites but also raised crucial funds to support the fair.
Since its start in 1962, the Beef BBQ has generated more than $250,000 to reinvest into the Jr. Fair and youth agricultural programs. In recent years, these funds have provided $15,000 for goat barn pens, $6,000 for sheep pens, and $20,000 each toward the new show arena, small animal complex, and horse barn. These improvements have helped ensure Adams County’s youth can showcase their agricultural projects in modern, upgraded facilities.
Proceeds from the 2025 BBQ will continue this tradition of reinvestment, further enhancing the fairgrounds and supporting local youth programs. With strong community backing, the Adams County Jr. Fair remains a cornerstone of agriculture, education, and service in the county.
