An early morning fire tore through a rural home near Germany Hill earlier this month, leaving the structure completely destroyed and a vintage vehicle a total loss. The Manchester Fire Department responded to the scene early Friday morning, September 5, to 1701 State Route 247. According to sources, the fire was already well-involved by the time crews arrived.
The residence, owned by William Broerman, was a total loss. A 1984 Oldsmobile Toronado, which was parked beside the back porch, was also destroyed in the blaze. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Broerman was not home at the time of the fire.
