With the cost of healthcare continuing to rise and many individuals struggling to afford basic medical screenings, Adams County Regional Medical Center (ACRMC) is offering a practical and affordable solution: low-cost blood screenings throughout the entire month of June at six convenient locations across the region.
For just $40, participants can receive a comprehensive blood panel that would typically cost hundreds of dollars through traditional insurance or out-of-pocket lab fees. The screening covers a wide range of important health indicators, including glucose, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, thyroid levels (TSH), HgbA1C, and a complete blood count (CBC). Additional tests — such as PSA (for prostate health) and testosterone levels — are available for $18 and $20, respectively.
“These screenings offer an important opportunity for residents to get ahead of health issues without breaking the bank,” said Jason M. Francis, Marketing Director at ACRMC. “In many cases, early detection can prevent serious — and far more expensive — medical conditions down the line.”
No appointment is necessary, and results will be mailed directly to participants along with educational information. A follow-up appointment with a healthcare provider is recommended to review results.
Screenings will be offered:
At ACRMC in Seaman (230 Medical Center Drive) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday
At ACRMC Family Medicine offices in Mt. Orab, Georgetown, West Union, Winchester, and Peebles from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays
For the comprehensive test, a 12-hour fast is recommended — with only water and prescribed medications allowed. Individuals with diabetes should consult a physician before fasting.
As part of the month-long wellness initiative, ACRMC will also host a Community Health Fair on Saturday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at its Seaman campus. The event will feature more than 50 vendors, free health checks, and continued access to the low-cost blood screenings.
In a time when many families are forced to choose between essential medical care and monthly expenses, programs like ACRMC’s summer health screenings can offer a meaningful way to stay informed, stay healthy, and save money.
