The deadline for candidates to file their petitions in the upcoming November election were due on Wednesday. On Saturday morning, the Adams County Board of Elections met to certify candidate petitions.
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7th. There will not by any county-wide candidates on the ballot this fall, however, seats are up for the Adams County/Ohio Valley School District and the Manchester Local School District. In the
Manchester District, there are two seats on the ballot this fall and only two candidates filed for those two seats: Megan C. Fuson and Dave McFarland. For the Adams County/Ohio Valley School District, two seats are on the ballot this fall with three candidates: Rick Davis, Sally McDaniel and David E. Riley.
In all, nearly 80 candidates filed for office in the county. The following are contested races throughout Adams County: (The Informer did not list those offices that do not have opposition).
For Manchester Mayor: Billie J. Goodwin, Troy A. Jolly, Shawn Palmer
For Manchester Village Council: Two to be elected: Dennis Barnd; Zollie L. Gardner, Christine Henderson, Amanda L. Thompson

For Peebles Village Council: Two to be elected: Amy Anderson, Tammy L. Crothers, Brigitte Daniels, John Huffman, Larry Shiveley
Seaman Village Council: Two to be elected: Ethel Chambers, William Chambers, Trina Sparks
West Union Mayor: Jason Buda, Paul Hughes
Winchester Village Council: Two to be elected: Amanda Klickner, Barry Lung, Joyce A. Porter
Brush Creek Township Trustee: One to be elected: Dustin Cox, David Heisler, Charles Hurd
Franklin Township Trustee: One to be elected: Derek Byers, Thomas E. Perdue
Green Township Trustee: One to be elected: Beverly Cox, Matthew D. Gray
