The Sunshine Foundation announced recently that Mariah Johnson of Peebles was recently granted a dream from the Sunshine Foundation for a shopping spree. The foundation answers dreams to children with life-long chronic conditions. Johnson lives with the challenges of Global Developmental Delay and Hypotonia.
The Sunshine Foundation relies on the generosity of donations from individuals and corporations to make these dreams a reality. The organization was able to answer Mariah’s “dream come true” through a generous sponsor.
“Thank you to the Sunshine Foundation for giving Mariah this dream of a shopping spree. She had a blast shopping. She was smiling and able to get whatever she wanted, and she was able to be a little girl and not worry about getting sick and just have fun,” said the Johnson family. “With the money we have left we will give her a nice birthday on June 30th. She wants a mermaid party. We appreciate the Sunshine Foundation for giving Mariah this dream.”
According to the foundation, the most common dream is to visit Disney World, Legoland, SeaWorld and Universal Studios while staying at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village near Disney. The organization also answers special dreams like shopping sprees, computers and iPads, meeting celebrities, swimming pools, family trips and special needs equipment.
