According to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) 2020 Draft Construction Program, ODOT will invest $1,418,075 in Adams County for construction projects in 2020.
The Draft Construction Program outlines projects that are programmed for the 2020 construction season in ODOT District 9. With an estimated cost of over $57 million, the construction program will consist of 81 new and ongoing preservation, maintenance and safety improvement projects to be sold and/or constructed through FY2020 and the first quarter of FY2021, and included in these are projects in which the department is partnering with the respective county engineer’s office.
The program outlines resurfacing roads, guardrail replacements, and a bridge replacement for Adams County.
The first project listed in the Draft Construction Program was awarded in November 2019 and will focus on resurfacing SR. 247 from the Seaman Corporation limit to the Highland County line, and SR 136 from the Winchester Corporation limit to the Highland County line. This project is estimated to cost $655,575.
The second project that is listed as sale date being October 2, 2020, will repair and replace guardrail on various county roads. This project is estimated to cost $288,500.
The third project listed in the report is for the replacement of an existing structure on Fawcett Road between Hope Ridge and Steam Furnace Road, and Mineral Spring Road between Davis Memorial Road and Cedar Ford Road. The program lists the first replacement completed. This project is estimated to cost $504,000.
Other counties in the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 will also receive funding for projects.

In 2019, ODOT projected to invest $100 million in Region 9, $10,936,421 being Adams County projects. Projects included bridge replacements, roadway resurfacing, minor roadway widening, slide repairs, and tree removal.
